In a bold move towards environmental sustainability, Yamed Group, an impactful real estate player in Morocco, has embraced the latest “HEQ Sustainable Building” certifications from Certivea. Unveiled in 2023, this new iteration specifically focuses on buildings, presenting a golden opportunity for Yamed Group to elevate its commitment to environmental sustainability. Through its proactive approach, the company reinforces its position as a visionary in sustainable construction in Morocco, ultimately contributing to the creation of a greener and more sustainable future.
Once again, Yamed Group aligns itself with contemporary environmental challenges, expressing its intent to adopt the new standards of HEQ (High Environmental Quality) certifications for its future real estate projects. These certifications, developed by Certivea and dedicated to buildings, underwent an experienced update in 2023, now known as “HEQ Sustainable Building.”
A major progress
In practical terms, this update in HEQ certifications represents a significant opportunity for Yamed Group to further advance its commitment to environmental sustainability. The group can now incorporate these new standards into its upcoming real estate projects, reinforcing its role as a leader in environmentally conscious construction in Morocco. Notably, the recent certification update places a strong emphasis on critical aspects such as carbon footprint reduction, biodiversity preservation, adaptation to climate change, alignment with sustainable finance evaluation frameworks, and ESG reporting.
A sustainability achievement
Yamed Group’s proactive approach to real estate sustainability is not a new venture for this visionary real estate operator, standing among the few Moroccan companies boasting an HEQ certification. The environmental commitment of this real estate player led to a collaboration with Certivea last year, resulting in a comprehensive agreement to certify a significant portion of Yamed Group’s real estate production.
The General Management System (GMS), adopted in 2022 by the real estate group in partnership with the certifier, is built on a flexible certification process for a considerable portion of its projects. This system relies on several essential pillars: an annual management audit and a comprehensive two-phase audit (design and implementation) for each project aspiring to certification. These audits, conducted on-site by independent auditors, ensure a transparent and impartial process, underscoring Yamed Group’s unwavering dedication to sustainability in the realm of real estate.
